Long live Mexico!

Mexico begins with music.

At once after the arrival in resort heart Riviera Maja (Riviera Maya), small town Plaja дель Carmen (Playa del Carmen), me are met by traditional group of street musicians мариачи – a picturesque orchestra, as if descended from pictures from children's books: on heads – a sombrero, standing – cowboy's boots, and in hands – violins, guitars and pipes. They play «La Bamba», «Guantanamera» and «La Cucaracha», and thus their persons shine such dazzling smiles that, apparently, even the sun concedes to them in brightness. «Benvenida, the senhorita!» (Welcome!) – musicians welcome me, and my holiday from this point on begins.
With tequila and the sun. Anyhow?

Yucatan
The flat equal peninsula lies between Gulf of Mexico and islands of Caribbean sea.
The plane delivers you from Europe to Cancun (Cancun). In 50 km to the south, on Riviera Maja, settles down attracting and hospitable small town Plaja дель Carmen. This fine place for beach rest was chosen by tourists of all world: the cleanest, white sand similar to powdered sugar, palm trees, a warm tropical climate all year long, a rich both bright night life and pyramids which will not leave indifferent even the most captious fan of cultural values.
For the first some days in Plaja дель Carmen I have had a rest for a year forward. It was the superrelaxation as a hobby and bodies. I plied between a beach and pool with a bar and admired handsome men-men from every corner of the globe, jumping about a volleyball net or dissecting waves on water motorcycles.

In parallel there was my acquaintance to a Mexican cuisine. First of all I have learnt that chilli con carne (that in a literal translation means pepper with meat) – ostensibly the national Mexican dish from the beef forcemeat, red beans and pepper is the Texas invention here again about such dish at all did not hear. Instead of it full various тортильяс (tortillas) – flat cakes from a corn flour, sauces чили (from sharp to improbably sharp), dishes from a string bean, avocado, hens and fishes. And here a dessert here truly tropical: pineapples, a mango, папайя …
For the fourth day I have reserved the ticket in Tulum (50 km to the south Playa del Carmen) – one of the most ancient cities of a civilisation майа which with XIII till XVI century was its economic and religious centre. In strategic targets the settlement has been constructed on the brink of steep rock in height of 15 metres and, probably, therefore has wonderfully escaped up to now. And what kinds open on boundless Caribbean open spaces!

The following my visit was in Chichen-Itsa (Chichen Itza) – the settlement located in 170 km to the West from Plaja дель Carmen (he is better for visiting after a dinner when flow of tourist groups will subside). This mystical city has been based in V century. Here there is a well-known pyramid of Kukulkan (Kukulcan) which in day of an equinox turns every year to a pilgrimage place. (In 2006 it on March, 20th and on September, 23rd). These days after a sunset the surprising play of light and shades transforms a pyramid ladder into a huge snake whom, slowly sliding as if slips from pyramid top to its basis.

After I have received a decent dose «cultural and spiritual» food, have been decided to go somewhere to walk and have a good time. And I have gone on Kinta Avenida (Quinta Avenida) that in a translation into Russian «the Fifth avenue» – ideal on Plaja дель means Carmen a place for evening walks. This wide street turns to a foot zone with set of bars, smart restaurants and souvenir shops where, by the way, very favourably it is possible to buy silver ornaments in the evening.

The place where it is necessary to visit, is club «Dark blue parrot» (Blue Parrot Beach Club), located directly on a beach. There under sounds of a sea surf dance barefoot directly on sand, and the flat roof of a bar made in the form of a terrace, – a favourite place of capital Mexican dandies.
